| Gerasimos Perdikaris |
| General Manager Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan |
Gerasimos ‘Michael’ Perdikaris left his native Greece, spent some of his career time in England honing his skills and ended up on Asian soil proving his worth.
After finishing his tertiary education in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the renowned International Centre of Glion, Montreaux, Switzerland, he started his career in the hospitality industry in 1987 with the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. However it was at the Mount Royal Thistle Hotel, which joined in 1991, that he showed the first signs of his burgeoning management skills where he delivered his first financial turn-around between 1992 and 1993, despite the worst economic recession ever seen in the UK.
In 1995 he bid UK goodbye and landed on the shores of Thailand to begin his exploration of career opportunities in Asia. His last assignment in Thailand was between the end of 1999 and mis-2003 as Resident Manager of Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square, where he was responsible for the entire operations of the hotel.
He eventually found himself in Malaysia as General Manager of the 330-room Sofitel Palm Resort, Johor in June 2003, achieving outstanding financial results year-on-year for the hotel, the best in fact in the hotel’s 11-year history. He was also selected to be one of 10 Sofitel general managers Asia-wide to sit in the committee for establishing Sofitel Quality and Standards.
He is the current GM of the Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan.
